Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British American musician and sitarist, is most well-known for her music. She was first within her age bracket to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is a scholar and daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career traveling between London and New Delhi. As a teenager when her first performance was in New Delhi took place. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received a high-school degree. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, however she's got an impressive career in singing and recording. She has been accompanying her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998, she released her debut self-titled album Anourag. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage is a very important aspect of her life. She's played in many famous venues around the globe. The career of Anoushka doesn't only comprise musical performances. Bapi The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She was in the movie Dance Like a Man where she plays the role of a teenage Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shankar's career continues to grow and we can expect to see a lot from her in years to be. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent much of her early years in London and Delhi then moving to California where she went to the high school. At the age of 9 she began her studies in music with her father. Her first performance with the sitar came during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi, four years after. As a part of her dad's band as his world tour, Anoushka had a wealth of experience performing in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also making recordings together with George Harrison. Her musicianship and talent was acknowledged by the British parliament as the best in Asian Arts.
